I spent sooooo much time on this deviation. I am still having a hard time with shading and with hair. Hair is just evil! I don't know how everyone on DA makes it look so freaking easy to edit. IT'S NOT!
Can I just say that my fractal marbles are freaking awesome!
I don't care if anyone else thinks otherwise. They are so cool.

I'm impressed with this.
When I first saw a production of "Joseph" with a summer camp, I was going through a spiritual reawakening at the time and when I saw Joseph come out and sing "Any Dream Will Do" with the children, I knew that said reawakening had hit its peak. Some cynics would say such a moment sucks and that Joseph's tenderness with the children in that scene could be mistaken for pedophilia. However, it isn't! It serves as the perfect gateway between the world in which we audience and the child choir audience live in and the world of the show's actual story, the world of Canan/Egypt.
And the song itself is poetic. There are times in which there is no hope, times when nothing goes right, or even you suffer a loss of any kind. During those times, you can't help but long for the time where all was new, where everything was all ahead and out of mind. For me that's the meaning of the song in general.
And I also love its new meaning when it's sung at the end, in which Joseph and his family reunite in Egypt and live happily ever after there. There, the golden coat he sings about in the lyrics represents the fame and fortune he gained as Pharaoh's sidekick. The added lyric for the finale demands his colored coat turned. In the symbolic sense, the colored coat represents his family and the love that has been restored after all that has happened. (All that symbolism I actually learned from a Youtube comment on a video of the song, but I forget who said it so I can't properly credit the original source :/ .)
In conclusion, this picture captures the sense of wonder and hope that resides in the song and its lyrics. Wonderful job.
