It seems as if too many of the fractals I see these days are just 'clever shapes' - pieces that are visually complex and probably require a great deal of technical skill to create, but contain no real concept... For me, the most important thing in any area of art is to convey a concept or a feeling, and not just to create a piece of work that demonstrates your technical skill. That's why I really like this piece - it is understated and subtle, and although I don't fully understand what the concept behind it is, I can tell that it has some sort of deeper meaning or significance.
Sorry about the rant. To cut a long story short, it's great.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with ranting. Your opinion is important to me. I may not know you personally, but I agree in every sense of the word. This piece is very personal to me. It conveys so many emotions that I can't state them all in one breath. I worry some times about being overly metaphoric with my art, especially this piece. I think that is why I added my prose to it, which I rarely do. I am glad you liked it enough to "rant".
Really cool image. I am new to fractals and it is easy to be seduced by all the wonderful colors and defined shapes. It is cool to see something more subtle that demand a little more work on the viewer to really see how interesting it is.
