The World of Insulin

Let me start with a little background. I am insulin resistant. Which means that my body makes plenty of insulin. However, my body, in its infinite wisdom, does not know how to use it. So, certain parts of my body go without insulin, unless it is corrected by medication.

The worst part for me is the havoc my insulin resistance does to my brain. When I was off my medication, I couldn't remember how to type words, let alone spell. I also forgot many fractal and photoshop functions. I also couldn't read, because I would literally forget what I was reading as I read a sentence.

That is why I decided to use this fractal in the contest. This fractal is the inside of my brain. It is like looking at a MRI. Some places are nice and health with bright color and healthy tissue. Other places, however, are gaping holes where the brain has stopped functioning due to lack of insulin. Two months ago, this was my world. Thankfully I am getting better as time goes by.
